Free QR Code Generator

Runs 100% in your browser — your files never leave your device.

QR codes turn any link, Wi-Fi password, or plain text into a scannable square — perfect for menus, flyers, business cards, and event signage. Type what you want to encode, preview it instantly, and download a crisp PNG at the size you need. Codes are generated locally in your browser; the content never leaves your device.

How it works

  1. 1

    Type your content

Paste a link or type any text — the QR code preview updates as you type.

  2. 2

    Pick a size

Choose the output size in pixels; larger sizes print more reliably.

  3. 3

    Download the PNG

One click saves the QR code as a PNG, ready for print or web.

About this tool

What the QR code carries

A QR code is a machine-readable square that encodes text — a URL, contact details, Wi-Fi credentials, or any string. The tool encodes exactly what you type, renders it as a crisp PNG at your chosen size, and nothing is uploaded: generation happens in your browser.

Design for the scanner

Keep sufficient quiet zone (the white margin around the code), high contrast, and a URL short enough to stay within the code's capacity — longer text produces denser codes that scan worse at distance. Test with two different phones before printing.

Print considerations

Print at least 2×2 centimeters for close scanning, larger for posters scanned from distance. Once printed, the content is frozen — for destinations that might change, point the QR at a short redirect you control rather than the final URL.

Frequently asked questions

Does the QR code expire?

No — the code encodes static text and works forever. The URL inside it can expire, which is why long-lived prints should target stable links.

Can I use it commercially?

Yes — QR generation is unencumbered; the code you generate is yours. The tool adds no watermark or tracking.

Why is my QR code hard to scan?

Usually insufficient contrast (light text on light background), too little margin, or a dense code printed too small. Shorten the content, increase size, or darken the code.
