Strong Password Generator Online — Free

Runs 100% in your browser — your files never leave your device.

Reused passwords are how most accounts get breached; a long random one per account is the cheapest defense. Pick the length, choose the character sets, skip look-alike characters if you will ever read the password aloud, and generate. Randomness comes from your browser's cryptographic API — nothing is stored or sent anywhere.

How it works

  1. 1

    Set length and character sets

Slide the length from 4 to 128 and toggle uppercase, lowercase, digits, symbols.

  2. 2

    Generate

One click produces a password guaranteed to use every enabled set.

  3. 3

    Copy it straight away

Copy the password into your password manager — it is never stored here.

About this tool

How the generator builds passwords

The tool composes passwords from true browser randomness: you set the length and choose which character groups to include — lowercase, uppercase, digits, symbols — and every character is drawn independently. Nothing is dictionary-based, nothing is memorable by design, nothing is reused.

Length is the security

Each added character multiplies the search space. Sixteen random characters from a mixed alphabet out-resists any cracking rig that exists — the generator's default length is set for exactly that, and longer is always stronger.

One password, one place

Generated passwords are meant to be unique per account — reuse turns one breach into many. Generate, store in a password manager, and never retype: the tool runs locally, so generated passwords never cross a network.

Frequently asked questions

Is the randomness good enough for real passwords?

Yes — the browser's random generator provides uniform selection, and the composition is fully random rather than pattern-based. This is the same source security libraries use.

Should I include symbols?

If the destination accepts them — symbols add alphabet size. But length contributes more than symbols: a 20-character password without symbols beats a 12-character one with them.

Can the generator avoid ambiguous characters?

Enable the exclude-ambiguous option to skip lookalikes (l, 1, I, O, 0) for passwords you will transcribe by hand. Random-stored passwords can keep the full alphabet.
