How line filtering works
The tool keeps or removes every line containing (or matching) your search term. One rule, applied across the whole list: keep the lines with "error", remove the lines with "test", keep everything matching a pattern — your call, applied instantly.
The everyday workflows
Extract error lines from a log, strip commented lines from a config export, keep only rows mentioning a product from a data dump, or remove advertisement lines from a pasted list. Filtering is the fastest route from a wall of text to the lines you actually need.
Chaining filters
Multiple passes build precise results: keep lines containing "error", then run a second filter removing those containing "warning", then deduplicate and sort — four simple passes replace one complicated expression.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between keep and remove modes?
Keep mode outputs only matching lines; remove mode outputs everything except them. Same search, opposite halves of the list.
Does filtering support regular expressions?
The matching covers plain text including partial words. For pattern-level filtering, simpler passes chained together usually get there without regex complexity.
Is matching case-sensitive?
By default yes, so "Error" and "error" filter separately. Match the casing your data actually uses, or run both variants.
