About this tool
How hue rotation works
Every color sits at an angle on the color wheel. Hue rotation spins all of them by the same number of degrees: red moves toward yellow or magenta, green toward cyan, and so on. Brightness and saturation stay constant, so the image keeps its light and punch while every color changes identity.
When to reach for it
Test product colorways without re-shooting, fix the green or orange cast left by indoor lighting, or create surreal effects — teal skies, magenta foliage. A small rotation is also the honest way to correct white balance after the fact.
Tips for the best result
For color correction, move in 5–15 degree steps and watch something you know should be neutral — white paper, gray concrete. For creative shifts, go bold: a 180-degree rotation produces the classic complementary look.
Frequently asked questions
Can hue rotation change one color only?
No — it rotates every color together, which keeps the relationships between them natural. To spotlight a single color, shift the hue and then blend the result back with the original using the colorize tint at low strength.
Will the original file change?
No — the hue shift effect is applied to a working copy in memory. Your original file stays untouched on your device, and the download is a brand-new file.
Which formats and sizes work?
JPG, PNG, and WebP files up to 50 MB. The result downloads in the original format with dimensions unchanged.
Why does skin look strange at large rotations?
Skin occupies a narrow band of the color wheel, so big rotations push it into green or blue territory — expected, not a bug. Keep rotations under about 20 degrees whenever people are in frame.
