About this tool
What gets extracted, and how
An EPUB is a zip archive of web pages with a reading order. The extractor opens the archive in your browser, follows the book's own table of contents, and converts each chapter to plain text: headings become their own lines, paragraphs stay paragraphs, and bullet or numbered lists keep one item per line. Metadata such as the book title and author is read from the package document, so the output is organized the way the author wrote it.
Why DRM-protected books do not work
Store-bought books from Kindle, Google Play, or Apple Books are often wrapped in DRM — encryption meant to enforce the store's licensing. Removing DRM is circumvention, and this tool does not do it. Books you export from Calibre, download from DRM-free stores (Gutenberg, Standard Ebooks, many indie shops), or create yourself extract perfectly. If extraction fails, the most likely reason is DRM rather than a broken file.
Privacy: your book never leaves the browser
The entire conversion is local: the file is opened with the browser's own zip and XML machinery, and no network request carries any part of your book. That matters for unpublished manuscripts, client work, and anything personal — a 400-page novel is processed without a single byte leaving your machine.
